Cześć,
Uczę się polskiego w domu, ale razumiem tylko troche. Jest bardzo trydny a potrzebuję pomocy. Szukam nauczyciela/i.
And I’m afraid my knowledge doesn’t allow me to continue writing in Polish, sorry.
I’m Spanish and I’ve been learning Polish at home by myself almost for a year now. The grammar is getting too complicated and I need somebody to help me with it.
I’m looking for a Polish person living in Leeds, ideally near Harehills or the town centre. I’m interested in having lessons once or twice a week, and in exchange I could teach you Spanish and/or English.
I’d be happy to have cyber-lessons via email if I can’t find someone to teach me in real life. If you’re interested, you can email me on:

Dziękuję bardzo,

You should be aware, that not everyone who speaks Polish, will be able to teach you. In fact, only few people will, like professional teachers. That’s because the grammar and spelling are really complicated and it’s a hard job to explain the rules to a foreigner. We speak the language, yes, but we do it by reflex.
Can I ask you where the idea of learning Polish came from?
If you are a beginner, the best teacher will be an English person, who learnt Polish. He/she will explain Polish language in better way. For us it would be rather hard to explain, why this or that is said just in that way, and other are not correct…
Polish native speaker is better for somebody who already knows Polish quite well, and would like to practise it, for the pronounciation etc.
I know the Polish grammar is quite complicated but I don’t think an English person is the best person to teach me Polish: 1) because it’s not their mother tongue 2) because there aren’t many English people who can speak Polish. In fact I haven’t met any. Also, English people don’t know much about grammar.
I’m learning Polish as a hobby (you’ll be thinking mad woman, there’re hundreds of easier hobbies); I’m bilingual in Spanish and English and I wanted to learn a 3rd language. Since I see so many Polish people at work everyday, and I wasn’t really interested in learning French or German, I decided to have a go. The problem is that I couldn’t find a course in any schools or colleges in Leeds, so I’m learning it by myself.
I believe that if a Polish person can learn the language at school, a Spanish can do the same. It’ll be more difficult but doable. I don’t expect to master it but, after a few years I reckon I’ll be able to have a simple conversation and read easy books; that’s my target.
Because I do the learning, I don’t need a brilliant teacher, just somebody who can answer my questions and give me some simple explanations. Some people have already replied, so I’ll see how it goes.
Hi,
wow i am really impressed that someone wants to learn Polish….I think it’s very difficult language to learn even for us Polish people sometimes it’s very difficult to speak properly…
I also agree with posts above that it’s better for u to find somone who is proffesional teacher and the best is if u find somone who can teach polish as a foreign language ….
if you want to practise ..just talk with people around..at work on the street whereever….
Anyway…as you said you have some replies for you post so try…and i wish you all the best and good look in your learning …
Also if you won’t find anybody who is would be right person to teach you I can try to help u but that’s what I said it would be mainly practising in speaking.
Best Regards

I recommend 'language transparent’ service:

You can there download a good tutor software for free. I is not something to replace a native speaker, of course, but I think you might benefit from it.
Have a nice one.
I’m Impressed too…. montse
Learning polish lang it’s hard job, better start learn china, is much more easy… because Pl lang is a quite complcated for…. native polish peole…. Most of them makes simple mistakes… no mater if they passed high school or not… grammatic is learned only in basic school and later everybody must work yourself on it, most people don’t do it & makes ambarrassingly mistakes…. it is very funny, … much more laughing than watching a TV Benny Hill Program… If You think that EVERY polish people know enough good Pl grammar, You’re wrong…. as was said, NO EVERYBODY CAN BE A TEACHER… of polsh language… no everybody…
…. but maybe You want to be in touch with "PL language (toungue) … in "basic meaning…. i understand you….. hehehehehe…
"Properly speaking polish guy"

I have e-mailed you and am willing to teach you Polish.
I agree that the best person to teach is a native speaker (as with any language really) and I happen to be a qualified teacher too 🙂
I was actually looking for some students as I have just finished teaching Polish to one English guy. Anyone else interested, let me know.

Your Polish accent from Gliwice(?) is already quite good as I have noticed. My post was aimed at foreigners really 🙂

Staff working at the States of Jersey tax department’s help desk are being encouraged to learn Polish.
Four employees have had a week-long introduction course in their lunch breaks to learn about Poland and gather a few words of vocabulary.
It is hoped this will help them to interact with newcomers who need help with tax issues.
Jersey’s Polish community is the fastest growing, with about 3,000 living and working in the island.
Next step – tax departments in all UK 😀 😀
