Work opportunities for hundreds
Manchester will be the gateway to Europe for jobseekers interested in working abroad on Wednesday 9th November 2011 between 10am and 5pm, with a European Job Day taking place at Manchester United Football Ground (Old Trafford).
The event – organised by European Employment Services (EURES) – will have employment advisers from 18 different countries present, with several big UK and European employers looking to fill several hundred vacancies with employers such as: Disneyland Paris, Club Med, and the Monarch Group.
Visitors will have access to an online European jobs database, which they can use to search for jobs across Europe with the help of staff.
Youth@work, a new initiative launched by the European Commission will also be holding workshops and advice sessions to encourage would be young entrepreneurs.
Anne Pavey, EURES Manager for the UK, says:
“The European Job Day aims to widen jobseekers’ appreciation of the opportunities available and help to recruit people to fill vacancies throughout the continent. We would encourage people who have thought about working in Europe to come to the ‘Job Day’.”
